Japanese-English poetry reading

Sun 12 November – Kofu City – Katrina is reading at a bilingual poetry performance at Fujimura Kinenkan for Yamanashi Prefectural University (YPU), Yamanashi, Japan. There will also be a koto performance by Dr Tamaki Ando, 2-3.30pm, free.

Katrina will be reading from her latest poetry collection, The Way the Crocodile Taught Me, (Seren, 2016), which has been described as ‘remarkable and rewarding’, ‘a stunning collection’, and ‘overwhelmingly beautiful’, for more information, please see https://www.serenbooks.com/productdisplay/way-crocodile-taught-me. Her poetry will also be read in Japanese by members of YPU. In addition, Katrina will be reading her English versions of Iida Dakotsu’s and Yasuaki Inoue’s haiku.

The Way the Crocodile Taught Me will be available for sale at the reading for 2,200 yen.

Katrina is visiting Japan on an Arts Council England/British Council-sponsored trip for six weeks and is being hosted by YPU.
