Katrina’s Battery Rocks – a meditation on nature, risk, swimming & the sea – is published today, Monday 8 July.
Battery Rocks has already won the Arthur Welton Award from the Society of Authors & contains the poem ‘in the kelp forest’, which won the Keats-Shelley Prize for Poetry.
In this new collection, Katrina examines issues of strength, fear and vulnerability, while swimming in the sea off of Penzance in Cornwall, every day for a year. She also offers a fresh take on the climate emergency through her engagement with the more-than-human – the animals, birds, fish and plant-life which depend on the sea.
Battery Rocks is available direct from the publisher, Seren. If you are UK-based, you can also order a signed copy from Katrina.
To celebrate the publication of Battery Rocks, Katrina has written a blog on some of the issues behind her new collection, Battery Rocks. You can read the blog here.
